Prior to starting dental school at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Dr. Tellington accepted a commission in the United States Navy. After completing dental school at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Dr. Tellington completed a General Practice Residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He then spent a year deployed to Diego Garcia, as the Senior Dental Officer. After returning from deployment, Dr. Tellington began residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. Upon completion of his residency training, he and his family moved to Bremerton to continue their military service. His love of the Northwest and his family's affinity for the community and lifestyle kept him searching for ways to stay in the area. Although his active duty service has ended, Dr. Tellington continues to serve as a reservist with the United States Navy based at Naval Hospital Bremerton. Dr. Tellington is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the Washington State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Kitsap County Dental Association. Dr. Tellington has been married for nearly 18 years to his wife Tianna. They have four wonderful and rambunctious children – Ryder, Callie, Landon and Wesley who range in age from 6 to 15. They are very thankful that the Navy brought them to this part of the world and have fallen in love the Pacific Northwest. Growing up in Tacoma, he developed a strong work ethic and commitment to service, leading him to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point graduating in 2001. Later in his career Dr. Smith pursued his dental degree at Rutgers in New Jersey, before completing his Oral Surgery residency in San Antonio, Texas. Now back in the Pacific Northwest and residing in Gig Harbor, Dr. Smith is dedicated to serving his home community with expertise and compassion. As a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), he has undergone a rigorous evaluation demonstrating his outstanding education, training, surgical competence, and ethical conduct, upholding the highest standards in surgical excellence. Dr. Smith recently celebrated his 20th wedding anniversary with his wife Diana and they have identical twin boys in high school and a daughter in middle school.
